Grey Damon |
On October 4 the Flash returns with all new episodes, and as we draw closer we are getting more news on the upcoming season. We now know that Grey Damon has been cast as Mirror Master for the upcoming season. We also now know that the Flash will venture into Gorilla city during its third season and we shall be reunited with our favorite Grodd again over a two episode arc.
But who is Mirror Master?
In the comic books Mirror Master is one of the more frequently recurring foes of the Flash and is a supervillain who possesses technical skills and expertise in the use of mirrors. More than one person has taken on the mantle of the Mirror Master Villain over the course of the comics.
Sam Scudder
A convict with a goal is what he is and his goal was learning how to get inside the reflection in a mirror and as he learnt how to do it he became the supervillain known as Mirror Master. Scudder died around the same time that Barry Allen died so we would assume if the comic books were to be followed Grey Damon would be playing the Sam Scudder version of the villain.
Captain Boomerang
Upon the death of Scudder Boomerang assumed his identity becoming the second mirror master in order to be able to use it to commit crimes without alerting his teammates in the Suicide Squad. He did so after studying mirrors and mastering the talents previously possessed by Scudder.
Evan McCulloch
The Scottish mercenary took his name after Mrs. McCulloch the owner of the orphanage in which he was raised in a pretty normal environment until sexually assaulted by an older boy at the age of eight when he drowns the assaulter in a creek but is never caught.
At the age of sixteen Evan leaves the orphanage with a picture of his parents that was left along with him as a baby at the doorsteps of the orphanage. He later becomes one of the most renowned mercenaries in the U.K. and ends up killing a man on of his assignments whom he realizes later is his father. Trying to gather his courage to visit his mother over the next few days Evan visits her too late, for she has already committed suicide.
The grieving Evan decides to turn himself in but before he does he is offered the mantle and tools of the Mirror Master by a consortium of US government and big business interests. The offer is made in exchange for his services. Evan in the coming books and as the third Mirror Master is the foe of the third comic book Flash, Wally West.
