Me Before You (2016): Review (May Contain Spoilers)

Who said a movie has to have a perfect pink happy ever after ending for it to be a good romantic motion picture? Well some people do, but, movies like Me Before You, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Before We Go are all titles that would disagree with such perception.

The 2016 movie based on a novel of the same name was one of those beautifully made romantic features that captures you from the first moment and until the last moment.

Sam Claflin who stars as Will Traynor delivers a great performance as the man hell bent on going to Switzerland to be laid to his final resting place after having been depressed and in pain for long post an accident that got him to lose feeling in most of his body.

But the young Will's heart could still beat, not just to keep him alive but to have him helplessly fall in love with the strangely innocent Lou Clark portrayed by none other than Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke.

Emilia was just another surprise in this movie. The actress who plays Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones was so talented playing her role I was personally amazed as I went through the movie. The actress whom we have been watching for six seasons turn into the vicious, powerful , hell bent over restoring back the throne of her ancestors from the Lannisters in Kings Landing has given a performance equally worthy of our appreciation in the movie and the beautiful thing is she gave us a completely different character with a completely different personality on the other end of the continuum.

The 'Mother of Dragons' as she is known on Game of Thrones turned from the strong, powerful, sometimes scary yet fair queen to the most mushy, romantic, girly and innocent person you could see on the screen and she did it with talent as her character fell in love with Traynor.

One other great thing about this movie is the playing of Ed Sheeran's photograph during the movie as part of the movie's soundtrack, cause if there is anything this movie proves it is actually that loving can hurt but it is the only thing the two leading characters seemed to know.

I give this movie at least an eight out of ten in the romance department and probably more in the acting department especially when it comes to Clarke.

Thanks for tuning in and I hope if you decide to watch the movie that you enjoy it.
