The Flash: Who Is Top

Ashley Rickards who plays the lead role on Awkward, an MTV show, will be visiting 'The Flash' TV series. She will be playing one Rosalind Dillon (Rosa) who is also known as the Top. She is definitely going to be making her debut on the show on the fourth episode of the upcoming season of the show. Weather, she will be part of more episodes is yet to be seen.

In the episode she is confirmed to be first seen on the show, she will be part of the origin story of the Mirror Master whom we have posted about in detail before. In the very same episode we are also to see Captain Cold for the first time on the flash this season. We will be seeing a struggle between the Mirror Master and Captain Cold and enjoy its ups and downs before we find out who comes out of it on top. The Executive Producers of the show referred to the Top as the 'Bonnie to Mirror Master's Clyde.'

What about Top in the comics?

In the comic books, Top is one Roscoe Dillon, a male rather than a female as portrayed by the Flash. He is a small time criminal with a childhood obsession with Tops. In essence he taught himself how to spin fast enough, deflecting bullets among other effects.

He soon discovers that the spinning increased his intelligence. He started creating a variety of trick tops, one of which was the atomic top that would destroy half the world when it slowed down and imprisoned the flash inside it. The Flash instead vibrated out of it and sent it into space.

Eventually Dillon also develops strong psionic powers (paranormal abilities related to the application of electronics, in other words mental powers). This development is caused by his spinning which ends up moving his dormant brain cells to the outer areas of his brain. His newly activated brain cells are destroyed later by the Flash's superspeed vibrations. He dies within days after putting together a revenge plot against the Flash and Central City. The Flash ends up realizing the dimensions of his plot and stops it before it is too late.

In the course of his comic book existence we also see him dating Golden Glider (Lisa Snart - Captain Cold's sister), whom we have met before on the show as well in previous seasons.
