As mentioned in an earlier post, Supergirl has brought into its fold yet another semi-Kryptonian, Mon-El also known in the comic books as Lar Grand. In the comics Lar servers in some versions as a substitute for Superman.
Lar Grand from the planet Daxam, a planet in the same solar system as Krypton, crash lands on Earth and is rescued by Superman who finds our newly introduced character suffering from Amnesia. Mon-El was an explorer who landed on Krypton and was warned by Superman's father Jor-El of the planet's eminent destruction and given a map to earth. Mon-El adopts the identity of a Bob Cobb to integrate into society.
Known affiliations of Mon-El in the comic books are the Legion of Super-Heroes (L.E.G.I.O.N.), Science Police (21st century), Justice League and the Green Lantern Corps.
His powers and abilities are identical to those of the natives of Krypton like Supergirl and Superman, however, he is vulnerable to lead rather than Kryptonite.
Lar, in the comics, is considered the most powerful member of the Legion of Super-Heroes.
Chris Wood will be portraying Mon-El in the second season of Supergirl which airs this October.
