Spider-Man Homecoming: Many Characters, Handle It.

When in doubt, reboot the Spider-Man movie franchise. That's what's been happening over the past fourteen years or so. First there was the Tobey Maguire movies Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. Yes, very creative. But truth be told the first was worth watching, the second was fine and the third was just a waste of time. Loved the black Spider-Man suit though in the third, very dark.

After the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy there was the Andrew Garfield movies. In 2012 we saw the Amazing Spider-Man followed by its sequel the Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014. The first was actually more than worth watching, it was great, the best Spider-Man movie ever made, until we see better in the future at least. But then again the sequel wasn't as great. The sequel probably was rated decently only because of how talented and how great Emma Stone is an actress. And even her character, Gwen Stacy was dead before the second movie ended.

And now we have the latest reboot of Spider-man, Spider-Man Homecoming, which is to release in 2017 and will star Tom Holland as Peter Parker. We have already seen Tom Holland play the role in Captain America: Civil War. We have also scene a post credit scene in the same movie that pertains to the upcoming Spider-Man movie. There is the teaser for the movie as well.

And from those few bits and pieces you can really tell that the upcoming movie is going to be way better than all others made before and with a much needed touch of funny that has increasingly become a key component in the Marvel cinematic universe. The fact that we will also be seeing Robert Downey Jr. in his regular Marvel role as Tony Stark is going to add to the fun and jokes, especially that in Civil War he seemed to be getting into Peter Parker's aunt's good graces and probably hot graces.

The movie will incorporate a lot of characters as well from the comic books. We won't be seeing Gwen Stacy it seems in the new Spider-Man movies which is a good thing because anyone playing the character will have huge shoes to fill and the comparison between them and Emma Stone might not work well for them. We will instead see the other very well known love interest in Peter Parker's life, Mary Jane Watson and she will be portrayed by actress and singer Zendaya.

We will also be seeing multiple villains, indeed multiple supervillains in the new Spider-Man movie.

Vulture

The first supervillain we expect to see in the upcoming Spider-Man movie and probably the main antagonist of the movie. Vulture will be portrayed by Michael Keaton.

In the comics Vulture is the alias for several characters, all supervillains of course. However, the most recurring of them in the comics is Adrian Toomes and he is the one we will be seeing in the upcoming movie.

As an electronics engineer Toomes partnered with one Gregory Bestman, who embezzled from their business. Toomes discovered it after he invented a flying harness and once he realized the worst of it, that he was pretty much broke he found out the harness also gave him superhuman strength and decided to use it in a life of crime. Although he is at an older age than most heroes and villains he is a strong fighter and remorseless killer.

In the comics he is a foe of Spider-Man so that works well for the movie. And if the movie is going to go anyway like the comic books he will end up in prison by the end of the first movie to return in a later installment to fight Spider-Man another day.

Tinkerer

A supervillain with a superhuman level of genius in engineering. The man can basically build sophisticated gadgets out of the spare parts of household appliances. He will be portrayed in the upcoming Spider-Man movie by Michael Chernus.

The brilliant inventor and technician Phineas Mason designs advanced weaponry for criminals and sometimes to use in crimes of his own. He does all that in an underground fix-t shop disguised as a radio repair shop. Initially he employed a team of thugs who specialized in placing bugs into radios and blackmailing state officials and politicians.

He is know to be a foe of Spider-Man in the comics.

Shocker

The character that will be portrayed in the upcoming movie by Woodbine is the third supervillain we will meet in this movie.

Herman Schultz was a high school dropout with brilliant inventor and engineering talents. He used his talents to become a successful burglar and the world's best safe-cracker. After being caught and incarcerated he develops a pair of gauntlets that shoots air blasts and vibrates at a high frequency and uses it to escape prison, becoming the supervillain known as Shocker. At that point he starts recurring as a foe of Spider-Man in the comics. He is affiliated with a bunch of supervillain teams, however I don't believe this is going to become part of the movie, at least not the first installment.

There you go, these are loosely the origin stories of how our three supervillains in the upcoming Spider-Man movie came to be who they are.

Spider-Man will be released on the 7th of July, 2017 and I believe and of course hope it is going to be as good as most Marvel movies have been in the past few years, and probably better than some of them as well.

Thanks for tuning in.
