Another edition to the second season's superhero roster of Legends of Tomorrow is Nick Zano who has been cast to portray Citizen Steel a superhero from the DC Universe.
The synopsis released by the CW read in that regards:
When Nate, the grandson of J.S.A. member Commander Steel, unexpectedly finds himself with powers, he must overcome his own insecurities and find the hero within himself.
This indicates that we will first meet Nathan Heywood powerless, before he discovers his powers, learns to control them and grow into a hero and as teased in Comic-Con save the legends at some point.
Whether his powers will be a major part of the season or just a minor one is yet to be seen, however, we know for a fact that the Nathan Heywood character will be a major player throughout the season.
In the comics the first on the superheroes with the title Steel was Henry Heywood known as Commander Steel. Henry Heywood was injured when saboteurs led by the supervillain Baron Blitzkrieg attacked his based while he was enlisted with the US Marine Corps. After extensive surgery was performed on Heywood by his former professor his damaged body was enhanced with mechanized steel devices that gave him superhuman strength, speed and durability, kind of like Cyborg. Heywood then took the masked hero persona 'Steel' as he was frustrated with his inability to use his abilities as he had to keep him secret as Heywood. During World War II and as he became tied to the All-Star Squadron he was commissioned Commander Steel by the British Prime Minister.
Years down the road Henry incorporated the same mechanized steel devices in his grandson Hank Heywood III and passed down the mantle only to resume the mantle of Commander Steel after Hank's death and until his own death while battling the supervillain Eclipso. Hank Heywood III died battling an android belonging to Professor Ivo a foe of the Justice League in Detroit of which Hank was a member.

We hope we gave you enough information on the subject and remember Legends returns on Thursdays this October on the CW.
